LAGARFOSS engine problems

20201227 – At noon the Eimskip’s container vessel LAGARFOSS (IMO 9641314) serious engine problems while she was 230 n.m. off Reykjanes Peninsular on voyage from Reykjavík to US.

The Icelandic Coast Guard vessel ÞÓR (IMO 9426893) which was in Port of Reykjavík headed towards the problem’d vessel. Early morning on 29 December the two vessels where connected and towing started towards Reykjavík.

The vessels arrived to Reykjavik on 30 December.

Lagarfoss was taken into tow by the harbour tugs HAKI and PHOENIX who brought her alongsite.
Finally back to port
