A lighthouse change took place in Reykjavik recently. The new lighthouse was turned on at 12:00 today 21st June 2019. The lighthouse of the Seaman’s school has been the leading lights into the port since 1945 has been shut down. The new one will take over it’s duty for comming future.

Due to building of 21 floor office building the white sector leading into the harbour was narrowed. To replace the Seaman’s school lighthouse an new lighthouse was build with the same look as other lighthouse belonging to the Associated Ports.
