No fatality among seafarers or fishermen in Iceland 2018

Now when the year 2018 is coming to an end and all Icelandic fishing vessels are back in port we are seeing the second year in a row where all Icelandic seafarer and fishermen returned safely back home to their families. There hasn’t been fatal accident among seafarers nor fishermen for 965 day’s or since in May 2016.  There are several things that has led to this great outcome but first and furthermost would be better safety culture on board our ships and among the sailors.

On the MarineTraffic it can be seen that there are only five foreign ships at sea around Iceland when the New Year will come.
