In January 2017 Eimskip and Royal Arctic Line signed contract with China Shipbuilding Trading Company Limited and Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard Co. Ltd.of building three 2.150 TEU’s container vessels. Each vessel will cost 32 mio US$. These three ships will establish a new alliance between the two shipping company but they have been in cooperation since 1993 when Eimskip became their Icelandic agent. The new vessels will be delivered in 2019 with the first one expected in April. She will be delivered to Eimskip which will also get the third and last one of the three sisters. The ship will be 180 mtr in length and 31 mtr in breath.
