Grounding in Hornafjordur

On the morning of December 9th 2018 the Dutch cargo vessel AMBER grounded in the entrace to the harbour of Hofn in Hornafjordur. She was inbound with cargo of salt when the incident happened. The sailing into Port of Hofn is through river entrance and there is narrow lane between sandbanks majority of the route. Amber was refloated at the morning tide on December 11th by own power and with assistance of the harbour tug BJÖRN LÓÐS. She is belived not to have suffered any damages.
