The newbuld ferry HERJÓLFUR has finally left her building yard heading for her homeport of Westmann Isl. Iceland. She was build at Crist S.A. Gdynia Poland for the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration (IRCA) to service the ferry route between Vestmannaeyjar and Landeyjarhöfn on Iceland south coast. Herjólfur was supposed to be delivered to her owner last year but she was not ready until February this year. Her delivery didn’t take place until June 4th due to dispute between the yard and IRCA about final payment for her building. Today June 9th she departed Gdynia heading home.
