Icelandic fishing vessel BLIDA sinks

The fishing vessel BLIDA (fishing number SH 277) sank at noon today November 5th 2019 but her crew of three where rescued.

BLIDA was located North of Stykkishólmur in Breiðafjörður Iceland when she sent out distress call. Icelandic Coast Guard rescue helicopter and ICE-SAR rescue units where alerted as well as vessel’s in the vicinity.

The crew of three where rescued safely from liferaft onboard another vessel half-an- hour after the distress call was made.

BLIDA during her time with fishing number KE 17

The sinking of Blida will be investigated by the Icelandic Transportation Safety Board.
